Soon after launching the world’s best running shoe, adidas announces the launch of yet another revolutionary technology, designed to keep the athlete 2 degree cooler – ClimaCool+.

Developed using recycled jade stone powder, infused with moisture wicking fabric to produce a stone cold effect, ClimaCool+ is like no other sports apparel technology – so while the ambient temperature rises, the ClimaCool+ jersey keeps the athlete 2 degrees cooler.
The somber world of fashion where change is venerated, hardly the ideas of innocence and eternity hold any significance. The transience of emotions enveloped in the darkness of night in the streets of Paris comes alive in a controversial short film created by the team of an international fashion magazine.

The gloomy provocative video made around the  preparations of Louis Vuitton’s Autumn Winter 2013 show features models like Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger, Isabeli Fontana and Eddie Campbell walking in the streets of Paris wearing the clothes right out of the ramp.

The provocative poses (semi-nude display to anguish filled gazes) in sync with the somber background score happened to raise the ire of few calling the video, an extremely shocking representation of women. The rising voice accuses Louis Vuitton of portraying women’s bodies as an object and prostitution as something that is playful and enjoyable.

Dominique Attias, a leading lawyer who signed a letter in the left-wing daily newspaper Liberation, states, “This is very damaging because we are trying to fight the idea, to which some young women in France subscribe, that prostitution is banal and just a way of getting money to buy clothes.”

The heated debates about cosmetic surgeries, under-age modeling, modesty, immodesty and all that jazz about women somehow lose its relevance when bigger and more grave issues like women’s security and education surface.

Women empowerment has always been the prime focus of fashion fraternity, be it empowering women sexually or socially. And of late retailers and designers have teamed with Vital Voices, a non-profit, non-governmental organization to build brands while empowering women.

At the forefront of this initiative is designer Diane von Furstenberg who has been associated with the organization since 2008 donating 10% of her online and store sales to raise money to inspire women leaders overseas, and now gives two DVF awards of the organization’s five $ 50,000 grants to Vital Voice awardees. Wal-Mart has also partnered with the organization in Latin America and Caribbean.

Here in India where security of women is one of the prime concerns, three automobile engineers from Chennai have developed high-tech lingerie to help women fight sexual offences. Called ‘Society Harnessing Equipment’ (SHE) the product based on GPS and pressure sensors is capable of creating shock waves while sending alerts in times of danger.

In the times of China, e-commerce and social networking sites, Christian Louboutin is all set to expand its reach in Asia by launching its first e-commerce site, while also joining the bunch of Chinese social networking sites.

In order to build more awareness of the brand in the region an e-commerce site for the Asia-Pacific region will be launched over the next few months besides a Chinese Corporate website and a Stop Fake site, similar to one that the brand has in the West.

Rohit Kamra’s fashion sensibilities this time adapt the essence of ethnicity of Rajasthan Culture and in extension to his love for village craftsmanship. Label Rohit & Abhishek presents ‘The Urban Tribe’ to support ‘woven Gold’ an NGO that upholds the interest of village artisan.

Sharing common interest with designer is actor Irrfan Khan who’s been quiet vocal in his support is seen promoting the handloom, khadi and village Craft of India. Noticeably displaying immense to ‘Woven Gold’ and Indian Textiles the actor has done an exclusive photo shoot for ‘The Urban Tribe’ by label Rohit and Abhishek , lending his support to the cause.
