Just like Burberry Eyewear campaign in Spring Summer 2012, Spark is the key eyewear launch of the year by the brand, supported by an online-led music campaign which celebrates emerging British talent.

The sunglasses in metallic color palette are inspired by the season’s Burberry ready-to-wear and accessories collections. The range includes two-tone acetate metallic frames and foldable aviator styles.

The campaign for this new collection is curated by Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, and is shot in London. Celebrating emerging British music talent, the campaign features a new collection of eyewear for men and women reflecting the brand’s bright runway collections, the energy of summer and the vibrant spirit of emerging British music.

The mighty ubiquitous force of fashion Karl Lagerfeld did it again by collaborating with Cassina, the Italian furniture maker, to put up an exhibition of photographs of the brand’s iconic furniture creations in Paris.

On display were the designer-cum-photographer Karl’s 34 unique prints of Cassina creations, including Charlotte Perriand’s Nuage bookshelf and Gerrit Thomas Rietveld’s Zig-Zag chair. The distinctness of the images lay in the fact that they were the graphic images printed on Plexiglas in supersize formats.

Speaking with WWD Karl Lagerfeld, remarked, “It’s interesting in the sense that those pieces are so famous that to look at them with a different eye gives a new vision of something you knew already.”
The exhibition will remain on show in Paris until March 10, before moving to Milan for the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in April.
