Finlandia, Fashion & ArtOn Friday 3rd August, Finlandia’s Master Taster, Marku Raittinen, hosted an exclusive tasting for the launch of Platinum in the bar of India’s most upscale hotel, the Leela Palace. At the event, an elite group of guests including prominent fashion designers, celebrities, models, and young successful business moguls had the privilege to be among the first to experience the taste of this rare ultra premium vodka.

The first bottle of the evening presented to India’s top fashion designer, Suneet Varma, with his immaculate list of achievements. Celebrating the couturier’s 25th anniversary, Mr. Amrit Kiran Singh, host for the evening said, Finlandia will look forward to many more interesting associations with him throughout the year.
 
A Spicy AfternoonRomil Ratra, General Manager of the luxury boutique and blogger Shaan Khanna hosted Sunday Brunch with an array of breezy cocktails and special appetizers, at Dome at The Intercontinental, Marine Drive. Heady highlights of the afternoon were the spicy sangrias specially created for the brunch appetizers, and cocktails. As the afternoon continued, the DJ kept the tempo upbeat while a special menu created by Chef Paul Kinny was much appreciated by everyone. 

Guests at the event included Madhoo Shah, Zeba & Rajesh Kohli, Mana & Sunil Shetty, Tanaaz Doshi, Deepti Bhatnagar, Rashmi Uday Singh, Prerna Goel, Nandini Sen, Dilshad & Farrokh Khambata, Shalini Shahani, Suchitra Pillai, Isha Mehra, Aarti & Kailash Surendranath, Vidya Malvade, Sheena Sippy, Soni Razdan, Laila & Ricky Lamba, Ashish Sajnani with Rashmi Nigam, Sanjay, Bindu & Krishna Kilachand, and Nisha Jamwval amongst many others. Also present to lend support were Shaans parents Sharmilla and Sandeep Khanna.

Restoration of the ColiseumLorenzo Ornaghi, Italian Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities, Mariarosaria Barbera, Superintendent of Rome Archaeological Heritage, Gianni Alemanno, Mayor of Rome, and Diego Della Valle, President of the Tod’s Group, announced today the timing and the phases of the restoration of the Coliseum, together with the details of the sponsorship.
 
Tod’s is committed to restore the Coliseum for patronage only and without any commercial purpose said, Diego Della Valle. Tod’s is proud to support this project by contributing to a better conservation of one of Italy’s symbols in the world and to strengthen our culture abroad. I hope that this sponsorship will stimulate tourism towards our country, creating employment opportunities in a sector where we surely are undisputed world leaders and that it can be an incentive for many Italian and foreign companies who care about the wonders of our cultural and artistic heritage, he further added.

The foundation will raise awareness of the restoration project in Italy and around the world and will try to motivate nonprofit actions that might attract young people to the beauty of this monument.

Creative Look DCW 2012The creative look this year for the upcoming PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 highlights the tools that help creating couture garments. The intricate, rich and sophisticated look was designed after several meetings and brainstorming sessions between the FDCI creative committee consisting of senior designers David Abraham, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rohit Bal and Suneet Varma.

PCJ Delhi Couture Week packaging will be ornate, rich and celebrate the origins of the much elaborate couture garments taking inspiration from the Victorian era.
