The fascination for Barbie makes the US-based jewellery designer Margaux Lange to come up with Plastic Body Series art jewellery collection featuring Barbie dolls.

The pop jewellery collection which resulted from her desire to re-purpose mass produced materials into handmade wearable art, utilizes salvaged Barbie doll parts in combination with sterling silver and pigmented resins. Her range of jewellery primarily features necklaces, earrings, bracelets, brooches and rings.

Margaux who has been creating work in this series for last 10 years finds her work as the celebration of pop culture’s relationship with iconic Barbie.

The distinctly textured Stingray leather gets endorsement of Rayfish Footwear coming up with shoes made from the skin of stingray.

The brand is bringing shagreen; the rawhide from sharks and rays, into the future. The material with its calcified bumps, making for the perfect anti-slip weapons in earlier times has been used to create sneakers with a sense of style. Customizing the whole ray, the brand comes up with ‘one fish, one shoe’ concept.

The whole idea is to grow a said design right into the DNA of the fish, instead of etching the design on the shagreen.

The black and white days of gone by decades seems like making a comeback with every other fashion brand keeping away from colors. The latest in the series of such monochrome campaigns is of Burberry.

The Brit luxury fashion label Burberry unveiled its Autumn Winter 2012 campaign in true British style featuring trench coats and wool flat caps. The newest stars of the brand posing are Gabriella Wilde and singer Roo Panes.

The Blaze of BirkinAsk any woman, and she will reel off her fetish for Birkin, the iconic bag from the house of Hermes. Even a scratch on this $100,00bag can make her heart bleed, spare the thought of it in the flames.

But Francesca Eastwood, daughter of veteran filmmaker Clint Eastwood thinks differently. The 18-year-old starlet and her photographer boyfriend Tyler Shields belted out a piece of art by setting fire to a crocodile Hermes Birkin Bag before taking a chainsaw to it.

However, the twist is that except this gold, diamond whatever spoon fed kiddo no one else find her work in good taste, or so-called artistic. Blazing a piece of art is more like an attention seeking capricious crusade.
