After Kanye West and Rihanna, it’s Janet Jackson, joining the exponentially populating league of celebrities-turned-designers.

After being the part of Blackglama’s ‘What Makes a Legend Most’ campaign, Janet has recently collaborated to come up with latest line of minks. The girly line is comprised of 15 pieces ranging from coats, jackets, vests, scarves and gloves to other accessories.

Janet calls designing her passion and says that she has worked for years to bring a collection in the world.

OMEGA, the prestigious Swiss watch company, as part of its global launch unveiled its all-woman line of watches, Ladymatic, during a scintillating soiree in Delhi last evening. True to OMEGA’s quintessence this series blends grace, timeless design with OMEGA’s groundbreaking technology, like never before.

Choosing to revive the legendary name from the golden age, OMEGA takes a step ahead to infuse design originality and Co-Axial innovation to give an entirely new meaning to Ladymatic. These timepieces have been created to not only address woman’s desire to own wristwatches that make profound fashion statements but are also equipped with the best series-produced mechanical watch movements in the world.

The watches in the new Ladymatic line feature polished 34 mm cases with a distinctive ceramic ring between an outer decorative wave and the inner case body. The cases are crafted in 18 Ct red or yellow gold or in stainless steel.

The Ladymatic watches are offered with a choice of polished or snow-set diamond-paved bezels. The polished screw-in crown is either set with a BRILLANT OMEGA CUT diamond or is embossed with a polished OMEGA logo. The polished caseback has a sapphire crystal that reveals the movement that powers the watch.
 
James Ferreira in collaboration with Shraddha Murarka’s label Vizyon launched their spanking new Autumn Winter collection. The collection was unveiled at Atosa with an ostentatious fête on the 23rd of November.  

Ace Photographer-Cum-Designer Shahid Datawala too revealed his Line of funky Jewellery taking inspiration from the table wares and the Mumbai’s network of sewage pipes. The compilation is an exhibition of the designer’s signature avante garde style.

James’s collection labeled as THE HARE AND THE TORTOISE is inspired by Aesop’s Fable’ The Hare and The Tortoise. Balance in Ecology, responsible Fashion and the morale of the fable together delineates the designer’s line. Lapin blended with prints of the endangered Star back Tortoise where natural hues of Golden Yellow, Moss Green, Burnt Sienna and Teal Blue with a black base enhances James’s The Hare and The Tortoise. The drape technique implemented magnificently on the satin added a redundant charm to his imagination.

A merge of the retro chic with a futuristic aesthetic was displayed by Vizyon’s Autumn Winter collection. Designer Shraddha presented an amusement of sensual drapes, graceful lines amalgamated with structured silhouettes along with handsome pleats. Vizyon for its launch has taken inspiration from Tamara de Lempicka’s structural design and paintings and the detailing and elegance of art deco jewellery. Urbane dresses, structured jackets and sequined blouses encompass the labels collection. 

Aparna Badlani and Azmina Rahimtoola along with Mehernaaz Dhondy was successful to perk up their sizzling guest list which included Poorna Jagannathan, Isha Shravani,Bhavna Sharma, Konkona Bakshi, Pallavi Sharda, Kunika Singh, Shaheen Abbas, Lascelles Symons, Lucky Morani, Marie Lou Phillips, Aki Narula, Binal Trivedi, Manasi Scott, Anuj Sharma, Anjana Sharma, Yasmin Morani, Yasmin Karachiwala, Vikram Raizada, Dr Rashmi Shetty, Kiran Datwani, Kanta Motwani and designer Masaba Gupta.

Givenchy’s Spring Summer 2012 catwalk came up with metallic half circles below and above each eye. The show featured models’ eyes dotted with silver sequins to present a parade of innocent yet so modish models. Very unique, yet so wearable the look is catching the attention of stylists worldwide, sparing the layers of kohl.

Easily do it yourself look can be attained by making the sequins the key feature of the look. All you need to do is to use two eye shadow colors, one nude and one in the matching of the color of the sequin with a subtle coat of mascara to be done with your eyes.

A graduate from London College of fashion, designer Sonali Mansingka introduced her label ‘Just Urban’ in the year 1999 after she returned back to the country after pursuing her course. Sonali even enrolled herself in a short program at the Central Saint Martins while her stay in London.  The designer there united with Ted Lapidus, the famous label by Olivier Lapidus to gain experience.

Sonali is a Mumbai based designer. The first commencement of her brand Just Urban was apprehended at the Ensemble. The label Sonali Mansingka deals with contemporary ready- to- wear outfits.

The designer since her childhood had an instinct for fashion.  An appealing psyche that trust in one off a kind and decides on narrow ranges of edition rousing the urban women to limber up, enjoy and carry out experiments has specified derivation to the designer’s creativity and sense of styling. Crafting comfortable and wearable garments is the mainstay of the labels collection. Her assortment delineates a prized and posh approach but is not at all finicky or fussy. Simplicity and effortlessness glances from Sonali’s carve which permits to get up and go.

Sonali has showcased her designs at the Wills India fashion week. She even managed to grab the Rohit Khosla young designer of the year nomination at the ‘F awards 2007. The designer has portrayed her styling skills for various TV commercials which were televised by Zoom, CNN-IBN and the National Geographic. The most viewed Oil of Olay ad has demonstrated Sonali’s mode of fashion in their visualization.

Sonali expanded her label with the instigation of her kid’s line in the year 2010. The outfits for the tots are displayed at the store MAL. Apart from it, the ready-to-wear creation of the designer is available at the outlets like Ensemble located in both New Delhi and Mumbai, the famous Ffolio prevailing at the Vittal Malya road in Bangalore, The Oak Tree and the you sited in Mumbai and 7 The Design Lounge of Chennai.

Launched in 2010, C.A.K.E by Christine Aranha travels to the exotic land of Bali, Indonesia this Fall/Winter 2011, trotting out its spirit in the collection titled, ‘Veins of Bali’.

Taking its inspiration from the colors and contours of Bali, the collection is comprised of deep natural earthy textures and hues – all jazzed up by traditional Indonesian technique of ‘Batik’. A crossover of traditional technique and modern styling, the entire range is crafted in soft jerseys, net, satin lycra and georgette.

Silhouettes remain fluid with a range of tunics, tops, skirts and jackets reflecting the shades of indigo, moss green, maroon and charcoal.

Aarti Vijay Gupta presented her newest collection in an extravagant fashion show at La Wedding Café et Lounge, Andheri West en Mumbai. La collaboration between Aarti Vijay Gupta et La Wedding Café Lounge was to bring fashion as a form of art in her newest unique bridal collection. This wedding collection is inspired from la Indian wedding et had forty unique garments walked by some of la veteran models of la industry.

La show opened avec white colour et gradually moved on to red, green, violet, purple, ending avec black. La designs included a-la-mode lehengas, anarkalis, sarees et modish bridal gowns. La embroidery has integrated zardosi work from Mughal era et charming stone work that in sync entirely avec collection. There was lots of pleating et rousing in her newest collection.



La cut in her newest designs had long flowy anarkalis avec lots of panels. La gowns were mermaid cuts avec lots of fibs et bounces. La sarees were gota embroidered combined avec modish bikini blouses. 


 
Dutch menswear label, Jeroen Van Tuyl continues its fascination for debonair men this Spring Summer 2012. The relaxed fluid forms trot out masculinity by keeping the whole affair subtle yet chic.

Predominantly, done in black, white and earthy hues, asymmetry remains one mainstay of the collection. The silhouettes vary from relaxed to tad fitted with an interesting play of necklines. Cross layer jumpers to shawl tunics, to sleeveless jackets, the collection offers variety to the men seeking a rescue from banal fashion. Adding eclecticism is a range of trench coats and one shouldered tunics.

The bottom wear kept consistently easy with pleated trousers with sporadic shiny one. Accessorizing this pushing-the-boundaries affair is silver necklaces and leather sandals.
