Accessories Designer “Meera Mahadevia” will be exhibiting her collection “Urban Tapestry” at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2011.

Meera describes her Urban Tapestry in verses personifying her as a woman who sits down to brush her hair in front of the mirror. It’s a sparkling mirror of Belgian glass fondly framed by an ornate wooden frame. She hears the faint echo of footsteps walking up the swirling metal steps. A hand hovers hesitatingly over the gleaming brass knocker on the door; it pauses for a moment and chooses to tug the sash instead. An old bell chimes somewhere inside.

This is the city of Devia, where time weaves an intricate symphony leading the past, the present, and the future to sway in unison – a dance that can only be felt; never seen. Devians believe that all creations exist together at the same time. It is only a matter of adjusting one’s perspective to see them simultaneously.

A few pieces from her collection are the metal bag made in gold polish, where left side of the bag has metal engraved piece encrusted with Austrian white opal Swarovski and rest of the bag has Austrian white opal Swarovski in different sizes with a ring detail on top. The Sway of the Breeze bag is inspired from bangles, polished in gold with metal engraving, green velvet gives a contrast and long tassels made of metal links.

Malaga’s Invintage line of jewellery is a collection which uses semi-precious stones and traditional settings with a modern twist. Ancient techniques and designs   from the rich cultural heritage of the Mughal era together with the use of precious stones like rubies and emeralds, lovingly handcrafted by highly skilled artisans.

Flamboyart will bring forth an entire season’s worth of fun, fusion and colour which gives kitsch a new avatar. The collection includes an assortment of shoes, bags, clutches and jewellery. Brocade features prominently in the collection, having been used in the bags and shoes. Embroidered bibs with crystals, trendy gota and gold bead necklaces make for ‘must-have’ accessories this season.

Using luxurious leathers in a profusion of coloured skin embosses, the Petra collection combines the wearability and sophistication of leather with the lightness of bright colours.
