London based photographer Ben Hopper held a unique photography exhibition titled ‘Natural Beauty’. Focussing on the issues and the stereotypes related to females who have armpit hair, being considered as dirty, unsightly, unhygienic etc. the exhibition purported to change the accustomed thinking and rather consider the armpit hair as something natural and beautiful.
Having worked on the collection of these images since 2007, Hopper concluded with the exhibition this week and bought forth the diversified perceptions regarding armpit hair. His prior aim through the exhibition was to make people accept and not entirely dismiss it.
He also showcased a dire contrast between the traditional fashionable female beauties and the raw unconventional look of female armpit hair. The thought provoking yet glamorous pictures showcased, foretold not only the love in some women for armpit hair but also the fact that many of them, including Hopper, find them beautiful, empowering and sexy.
