Suneet Varma’s kick-started his 25th year revelry with ‘The eternal lightness of being- to love, to hold, to kiss’, his 2012 Spring Couture collection. Also on display was the lavishly put together photoexhibit- ‘Grit & Grace’, that celebrates top models and photographers who have extended Suneet’s inspiration over the years,at the DLF Emporio Mall.

The collection was inspired by a dreamy day, a lazy breeze, and the laughter of lilacs; an idyllic summer mood set off by soft hues, colorful prints, and languid silhouettes. Waves of crinkled chiffon, crushed georgette and organza created light caressing textures in refreshing yellows, somber pinks, limes and blues.  Dedicating the show to his muse forever Nandita Basu Suneet said, ‘I believe it is the correct time in Indian fashion to create a new look and feel that is couture at the heart of it and yet is available to a wider audience. This collection is carefully crafted in stylish youthful silhouettes at a diffusion price point. It is texture, print, fabric and detail driven. With this line and the new possibilities of presentation inspired by technology, I look forward to the future.
