The Royal Rajasthan Gala 2010 at Taj Mahal Palace & Towers, Mumbai hosted by His Highness Maharaja Gajsingh II of Marwar – Jodphur & Her Highness Maharani Hemlata Rajye raised funds and awareness for the Indian Head Injury Foundation.

Entertainment was traditional with a classic western operatic twist. The reception was spellbinding with a series of devotional performances laid on by internationally respected RIFF (Rajasthan International Folk Festival). True to its authentic celebration of traditional folk music and crafts guests were adorned by handicrafts by artisans spread across a recreated mini bizarre at the venue providing the evening reception with dancers and performers from Jodhpur. The Gala dinner welcomed a show stopping performance by ladies in red – ‘Passionata’ a trio from London that have wowed crowds all over the world.

The engine of medical momentum; Dr Rajendra Prasad – Executive Director of The Indian Head Injury Foundation announced a pioneering workshop for Mumbaikers scheduled today at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital with doctors that are considered leaders in their field, titled the “Comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Management”

Actor and trustee, Kabir Bedi was Master of Ceremonies for the evening wearing a traditional Tarun Tahiliani Rajasthani Sherwani; keeping on par with the authentic regional theme of the night accompanied by his better half Parveen Dusanj seated on head table with fellow Brits Arun Nayer and Elizabeth Hurley who was wearing a head turning trailed turquoise Roberto Cavalli gown.
 
Adi Godrej accompanied by his daughter Tanya Dubash rippled the 300 strong crowds as he successfully won his silent auction bid for the much sought after Hermes Birkin Bag. Powerhouses and luminaries alike included Smita & Deepak Parekh, Ajay Piramel, Ajit Gulabchand, NIranjan Hiranindani, Vijay Kalantri, Vivek Nair, Mahendra Sanhghi, Rashmi Uday Singh, Shoba & Dilip De with daughter Avantika.
