The recent preview of Holiday Collection at D7, Khar West in Mumbai had seven coveted designers showcasing their newest designs. Sourendra Kumar Das tête-à-têtes with the designers and exemplifies the most desirable colour palette this season…

Their newest collection included clean silhouettes with traditional embroideries and festive colours, the likes of rust red, shades of pink, dull green, vermillion, bright yellow, etc. in mélange of Indo-western outfits.

“In our newest collection, we have salwar sets and kurtas in burst of colours with floral prints and sequins. We have the palette vastly vibrant – esque with fuschia, lime and electric blue mixed with distinctive fabrics,” explained designer-duo Pankaj & Nidhi.

Globally, fashion has made room for plenty of experimentation. “We have chosen stronger colour palette that embraces muted shades of red, blue and green. We have included flowing velvets and stressed fabrics that are multi-coloured in two or more tones,” revealed designer-duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna.

The holiday collection has both visual and structural perfection in accessories too. “I have designed along the lines of military green, and showcased a brief line of men’s footwear as well as Indo-western jackets,” divulged designer Rajesh Pratap Singh.

AM:PM’s flair for Indo-western cuts were visible through their attires, replete with Indian motifs. “Our designs speak of soft grace, subtle confidence and inherited class. We have incorporated attires done in faded prints too,” revealed designer-duo Anju and Priyanka Modi.

Namrata Joshipura’s line was inspired by large, floral motifs on short kaftans and salwar sets while Ranna Gill boasted cruise-wear and clutches with graphic prints. There were chunky stones on vibrant colours on evening attires and lehengas by designer-duo Rabani and Rakha.
