A celebration of bridal styles and traditional creativity with a twist was at Melange (at Altamount Road) as it welcomed the forthcoming season of weddings and festive occasions. Melange showcases the new Bridal 2010 collections of designers Anuradha Vakil, Krishna Mehta and Accessories by Malini Agarwalla.

Krishna Mehta presents a timeless collection of magical and alluring ensembles, romantically synchronized, with simple elegance. Her creations are reminiscent of a season where colours bloom and there’s a rhythm in every silhouette.

Veteran designer Anuradha Vakil presents her signature design sensibility that breathes fresh life in to an age-old textile craft: tie & dye.   Bold, geometrical patterns created in finest workmanship on hand-woven silk grounds, combined with exquisite silver and gold kalabattun embroideries, create dazzling pieces of work – classical, timeless and head turning as always.
Malini Agarwalla’s "Malaga" takes on a journey of a bygone era this season, transporting from the bohemian spirit of today to the lilting romance of the vintage Mughal dynasty. The Vintage line stuns with its plethora of artistry, craftsmanship and sheer decadence. Ancient techniques and designs from the rich cultural heritage of the Mughal era together with the use of precious stones like rubies and emeralds, lovingly handcrafted by highly skilled artisans have made this the flagship collection of Malaga.

Guests seen enjoying the high tea preview included Pratima Bhatia Preeti Hiranandani Priyasri Patodia and Durva Gandhi. Also seen shopping were Nina Kothari with mother Kokilaben Ambani, Princess Padmaja Kumari of Jaipur. They loved the rich royal silks and kurtas on display.
