The opening of  Made In India: Samskara, exhibition was inaugurated by director of BE OPEN, Mr Gennady Terebkov along with the Honorable Minister of Culture, Smt. Chandresh Kumari Katoch and Mr. Sunil Sethi.

A unique and layered project which explored the possibilities for the artisans and to ensure the survival of their crafts was a momentous occasion, that saw the who’s-who of design come together after  months of hard work with the noteworthy and commendable participating designers from Abraham & Thakore, Ashish Soni, Aneeth Arora Ayush Kasliwal, Neeru Kumar, Pankaj & Nidhi, Rahul Mishra, Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, Tanira Sethi, Thukral and Tagra, Prateek and Gautam of Klove, Gunjan Gupta, Anupam & Lekha Poddar of Devi Designs, Samanth Chauhan and Vibhor Sogani. Present to support the initiative were textile expert Ritu Kumar, David and Mandeep Housego, Madhu Jain along with couturiers Tarun Tahiliani, Rohit Bal and Anju Modi. Designers Amit Aggarwal, Rakesh Agarwal, Namrata Joshipura, Urvashi Kaur, Nida Mahmood, Poonam Bhagat, Peter & Cecile D Ascoli, Priyanka and Ankur Modi, Alpana & Neeraj, Ashdeen Lilaowalia, Renu Tandon and Gautam Rakha to name a few.

The evening also saw a milieu of leading upholders of Indian design, including artist Hemi Bawa, gallery owner Amol Vadehra, Vikram Goyal of Viya Home, design appreciators Bindu Vadera, Garima Jain, chairman YFLO, Geeti Bhagat of Earth Foundation, Palak Shah of textiles store Ekaya, restaurateur AD Singh, brand consultant Sujata Assomull SIppy with husband Jaideep Sippy, product designer Alex Davis, Max Claudet, cultural counselor of the French embassy, film maker Anu with husband Iqbal Malhotra, fashion expert Mohan Neelakanthan, popular TV anchors Ambika Anand and Fatima Karan, Robyn Bickford of The Lodhi, choreographers, Vidyun Singh and Asha Kochhar.
