The designer with global repute Anita Dongre lately unveiled her first India inspired bridal collection at her flagship store in High Street Phoenix, Mumbai.The opulent line on display included lehangas, saris, cocktail gowns, Indian suits for women, along with sherwanis, jodhpurs and silk kurtas for men. The collection titled, ‘Timeless’ boasted of hand woven textiles of Varanasi with Gota Patti work done by artisans from Jaipur.The color palette of the collection goes from peaches, to whites, to limes and cool aqua blues besides the pinks and reds for the Indian brides.
About her launch of Bridal collection, Anita Dongre said, “I am thrilled to launch this line because it’s been a long dream for me to explore bridal wear. I love design, and I love the beauty each blushing bride exudes, and I think it is very essential that she is content with her sartorial choices for her special wedding days. She should not be weighed down with heavy lehengas, but should be able to have a good time and dance at her wedding.”
The event was well attended by the celebrities and luminaries of the tinsel town including DiaMirza, SangeetaBijlani, Narendra Kumar, Lubna Adams,EshaKoppikhar,Tisca Chopra, Krishna Mehta, ShabanaAzmi and Nachiket Barve amongst others.
