An art gallery founded by Bhavna Minocha, a self taught artist herself represents and promotes Indian Contemporary Art and Artists, both nationwide and worldwide through innovative and meaningful exhibitions presented the opening of Fusion. The opening of the exhibition was done by Sheila Dikshit Hon. Chief minister of Delhi. 

The exhibition – Fusion ranged from works of renowned artists & upcoming artists whose work, apart from being of high quality, hold good value for money for the collectors as well as provide an adequate reward for the artists’ creative talent.

Apart from the works of Masters, the studio stocks Paintings, Prints, Serigraphs, Drawings, Etchings, Photographs, Sculptures and other artworks of emerging artists who have tremendous creative talent and are masters of the future.

Besides providing Art for your beautiful homes, Poetry in Frames is actively involved in promoting Corporate Art for offices, hotels and other commercial establishments in the form of commercially affordable Paintings, Sculptures, Serigraphs, Photographs, Drawings & Re-Prints.

A celebration of bridal styles and traditional creativity with a twist was at Melange (at Altamount Road) as it welcomed the forthcoming season of weddings and festive occasions. Melange showcases the new Bridal 2010 collections of designers Anuradha Vakil, Krishna Mehta and Accessories by Malini Agarwalla.

Krishna Mehta presents a timeless collection of magical and alluring ensembles, romantically synchronized, with simple elegance. Her creations are reminiscent of a season where colours bloom and there’s a rhythm in every silhouette.

Veteran designer Anuradha Vakil presents her signature design sensibility that breathes fresh life in to an age-old textile craft: tie & dye.   Bold, geometrical patterns created in finest workmanship on hand-woven silk grounds, combined with exquisite silver and gold kalabattun embroideries, create dazzling pieces of work – classical, timeless and head turning as always.
Malini Agarwalla’s "Malaga" takes on a journey of a bygone era this season, transporting from the bohemian spirit of today to the lilting romance of the vintage Mughal dynasty. The Vintage line stuns with its plethora of artistry, craftsmanship and sheer decadence. Ancient techniques and designs from the rich cultural heritage of the Mughal era together with the use of precious stones like rubies and emeralds, lovingly handcrafted by highly skilled artisans have made this the flagship collection of Malaga.

Guests seen enjoying the high tea preview included Pratima Bhatia Preeti Hiranandani Priyasri Patodia and Durva Gandhi. Also seen shopping were Nina Kothari with mother Kokilaben Ambani, Princess Padmaja Kumari of Jaipur. They loved the rich royal silks and kurtas on display.
 
Divya Gurwara, CEO of Bridal Asia and entrepreneur Amrita Singh in association with The Olive Beach, Hotel Diplomat came together to host a cocktail evening for a select gathering to talk about the upcoming wedding trends and to present the bridal collections by talented designer couple Alpana & Neeraj of ‘Azara’ and Umrao Jewels of Jaipur by Shaleen Shah.

Jaipur based Umrao Jewels has earned kudos the world over for their exclusive and unique designs with a fine blend of traditional and contemporary unveiling a  special collection called ‘NAYAB’ this year at Bridal Asia 2010. The collection will consist of exquisite range of necklaces, pendants and earrings in exotic and rich kalakari, designs and workmanship which date back to the rich and exotic Mugal era. ‘Naayaab’, as the collection is called, literally means ‘unique’, ‘rare’.

Shaleen Shah of Umrao Jewels says “Our exceptional jewels combine age-old techniques like pacchi, meenakari, chitai and modern ideas that define our collection, bringing together the efforts of hand skilled craftsmen and the magic of stones to create true pieces of art making them truly ‘Naayaab’.

Azara, the brainchild of designer duo Alpana and Neeraj has created a niche as one of the most talented designer duos to look out for, in a short span since their launch in 2008. The collection is very contemporary consisting of lehengas with corsets which when worn look like gowns. The embroidery is lightweight making the outfit manageable. Trimmed with military elements like leather trims and belts, buckles, studs and rivets, the collection is edgy and yet elegant and wearable. Each ensemble has intricate craftsmanship and a contemporary twist.
 
India’s first Super Club Quantum got launched this Saturday at Center Stage Mall, Noida. Dazzling the night and to mark the launch party were models strutting down the ramp in ace designer Rocky S’ collection. 

The fashion show studded with glamour and glitz saw gorgeous women walking down the ramp in luxurios drapes of chiffons sparkling with encrusted crystals. The high on luxury and expensive quotients were the exuberant lehangas from the ace designer Rocky S’ creation. And announcing the night long fun and party was the very beautiful Neetu Chandra dressed in the most splendid lehanga from his line. 

Quantum is spread over an area of 18000 sq feet with four floors and an additional area on the 6th floor, with six bars each having there own usp. The main floor at the entry of the entry level boasts of the biggest bar of the club and the World’s Fastest and most powerful body sonic dance floor which can accommodate upto 600 people and a sound level of 100,000 watts. 
This peerless night club has been conceptualized and given shape by two young entrepreneurs Sachin Dutta of Shri Balaji Constructions and Manu Goswami who has been involved with various entertainment projects. 
 

Prolific artist Owais Husain presents a solo show titled "3 Worlds" in Mumbai, curated by Kalpana Shah from 6th to 26thAugust 2010 across all three spaces of Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai. 

A Preview was hosted by Kalpana Shah of Tao Art Gallery and Ashvin Gidwani for Owais Husain. Guests walked into the main gallery where the "The Heart" sub show was on display and then made their way to dark room display of "The Spirit" at the lower level and then to the next building to view the "The Mind" sub show. 

Guests presents included directors like Shaad Ali, Apurva Lakhia and Bunty Walia; Pooja Bedi, Aarti & Kailash Surendranath, Nawaz Singhania, Parvez Damania, Akbar Padamsee, Farhan Furniturewala, Laila Khan, Kahini Arte Merchant, Talat Aziz, Henry Tham, Ranjeet Shahani, Lavesh Jagasia, Jaideep & Seema Mehrohtra and Bakul Patel amongst many more friends , family members and well wishers.

Owais Husain who has not only inherited his father’s artistic genes but also has a unique and classy style of expressing his artistic senses and ability to find inner beauty in the most mundane and normal objects. The core of the show revolves around the fact that every human being is a story teller and narrates stories either through their work or to their children or to any other person. Every painter is a cartographer of his or her time. Charting the directions of the current human imagination/ spirit, this exhibition is a multi dimensional endeavor, however humble, towards this goal.

As Tahiliani puts it, “Haute couture and precious jewellery have been closely associated for centuries. So it goes without saying that this is a perfect match.”

Samsaara, the luxurious fashion house along with Devieka Bhojwani organized a charitable event to support the cause of breast cancer with its Think Pink initiative. 

The event marked the presence of various fashion designers who have specially designed a new collection. The collection will be displayed during a week long exhibition starting from 4th August. Samsaara will contribute 20% of the sales of the Think Pink collection the Women Cancer Initiative- Tata Memorial Hospital.

Expressing art through a completely new medium, Sunaina Anand of Art Alive Gallery & Sunil Sethi did the preview of “Fly your own carpet to your walls”, an exhibition of hand woven carpets featuring selected works by contemporary masters of art & design will be held between 27th to 29th August, 2010 at the Lalit Hotel, Barakhamba, New Delhi.

The artists whose works & sketches got converted into carpets include: S.H. Raza, M.F. Husain, Ram Kumar, Manjit Bawa , Jehangir Sabavala ,T. Vaikuntam, Chitravanu Mazumdar,  Manu Parekh, Senaka Senanayake, Manish Pushkale, Jayasri Burman, Paresh Maity, Thukral & Tagra, , Sujata Bajaj, , GR Iranna, Binoy Varghese, Farhad Hussain. And the designers who are fast becoming legends: Rohit Bal, Manish Arora, Rajesh Pratap Singh, M by Madhu Jain and Milind Soman etc.

As always, prices have been kept reasonable and attractive. The prices start at Rs 35,000 with the most expensive being Rs 5 lakh ( Raza, Husain) All the carpets will be accompanied by a certificate from the painter saying they are an authorized limited edition of his work. The idea is to convert this into ultimate modern art form.
