Yang Li’s spring collection at Paris had ballroom like skirts with layering adding depth to the otherwise unadorned, sober fabrics. Li gave a casual grace to rich organza skirts by pairing them with short leather aprons and workwear-inspired shirt/ jacket, while raw edges on pockets and the seams of skirts provided a spontaneous touch to the sensual lineup.

She looks for perfection and her interests lay in exploring her cultural background, the various handicrafts found in the remote parts of India. Jelin George did her graduation from NIFT and London college of Fashion and got trained under the London based designer Roksanda Illincic.

Jelin launched her namesake label in 2010 with the aim of creating a distinct brand for the modern woman- who is strong, confident and unafraid to embrace her masculine side while stepping out beautifully sexy and appealing. Inspiration behind her label was culmination of opposites combining feminine with masculine and structure with delicate handcrafted embellishments.

The designer has been showcasing her collections at Lakme Fashion Week and Dubai Fashion Week. Within short span of 3 years, her label has already earned clients like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha to name a few.

Her designs are currently available at The Dressing Room in Mumbai and Studio 90 in Dubai.

Milan played the host for Wool Campaign 2013 “Live naturally, choose wool”, promoting wool as a natural, biodegradable and renewable fiber. The campaign involved both industry and consumer, building a bridge between them.

With the prominent Italian department store La Rinascente, the campaign invited consumers to discover the natural origin and eco-credentials of wool, showing the journey from farm to fashion. A flock of sheep was grazing outside the store, highlighting the origin of wool. Unique in-store animations through the seven floors of La Rinascente and the visual display created by Italy’s five most prestigious Fashion Design schools showed the characteristic properties of wool.

The Woolmark Company also collaborated with textile trade show Milano Unica and supported ON Stage. Six designers and special guest Andrea Pompilio showcased their unique presentation about wool at a united fashion show that took place in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Campaign for Wool supporter, the Prince of Wales welcomed the guests via audio-visual link and spoke of the endless potential of wool and the importance of the wool-growing industry.
