The glitz and glamour of fashion world sustain on the dreams the young designers…

The glitz and glamour of fashion world sustain on the dreams the young designers like Anushka Khanna mirror through their eyes; the dream to paint the world with golds and silvers; the objective to turn the ugly ducklings into swans; and ideas galore to beautify the things around.

Since childhood seeing the things from the very other end of the telescope has intrigued designer Anushka Khanna. Meanwhile, twisting and twirling the ordinariness of the circadian processes to beget the sense of wonderment defined her design sensibility, and she headed to London College of Fashion where she learnt the niceties of the business of fashion designing.

Soon after completing her majors she launched her own line focusing on made to order Indian wear while her Western wear featured surface texturing in contemporary silhouettes. Laurels came in the form of her work being featured in many fashion glossies in India.

The designer who has also had collaborated with international label Sir Alistair Rai currently retails at Ensemble in Mumbai and Delhi, Samsaara, Mal, Atosa and Shray in Mumbai, Anahita in Hyderabad, Salt in Goa and Zardose in Singapore.

Astha Narang unleashes her love for drapes in her collection christened as FOLD’EM , where she redefines the artworks of her muse artist Goran Konjevod on 24th March at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer Resort 2013.

With the vision of producing ingenious designs and drapes, Label Astha Narang has flourished to create a niche brand and cater to women’s couture-wear with a design philosophy that is distinctly feminine and refined.

Blending the creative thoughts of artist Goran Konjevod who develops forms from 2D material and uses techniques of folding, heat set and creating 3D obscure shapes the designer has adapted flirty yet elegant line of collection. The splendid folds and pleats in the form of draping knits combined with flowy silk enhance the style of each look. Extracting the essence of cool colors like berry blues, leaf greens and mud grays, each ensemble has been explored deeply imparting depth meaning.

Diesel founder Renzo Rosso and EDUN founders Ali Hewson and Bono travelled to Uganda and Mali, where they shared their love of the continent and toured each other’s programs. The experience encouraged them to join forces to further apparel trade and development in Africa under the name Diesel+EDUN.

As one might expect from a Diesel project, denim lies at the heart of the collection in the form of jackets and jeans.Adding the touch of EDUN’s DNA, the result is iconic styles based on a reinterpretation of a 1970s four-pocket jean recalling African influences. Choose between raw, untreated, and authentic blue denim, or white denim to reflect the sun’s glare.

The men’s collection features four denim models, both based on Diesel’s existing “Krooley” design. The first is a traditional 5-pocket while the second is a 4-pocket jean with large patch pockets. This has a drawstring waist and carrot fit legs with snap-fastening ankle cuffs. It’s also available as a sweat pant style.

The women’s collection features three denim styles. The first is a 5-pocket jean based on Diesel’s “Grupee” design. Here it’s re-interpreted with a higher waist and longer ankle length. As in the men’s range, it is also available as a jogging pant with denim fabric. Sexy roll-able shorts in blue and white denim with 4 patch pockets continue the denim range, which is completed by a short and streamlined motorcycle jacket.
