Amongst many fashion campaigns making it to the glossies and billboards every year, the campaign by XOXO, the American clothing brand targeted towards teenage girls, is the most sought-after one.

Renowned for working with iconic models since its launch in 1995 with Tyra Bank as its face, the latest Hugs & Kisses XOXO spring campaign features Victoria’s Secret Angel Erin Heatherton – making her to join the league of Claudia Schiffer, Amber Velletta, Miranda Kerr and Allessandra Ambrosio.

The campaign is shot by Rocco Laspata of Laspata Decaro, the New-York based creative agency and will hit online on February 5.

Undoubtedly, it’s only Karl Lagerfeld who can set up a forest (to be precise 90 Oak trees and 300 bushes) inside Paris’s Grand Palais for a show. Well, it was a couture showcasing and the idea was germinated in the dreams of the designer, known to create the state-of-the-art miss-en-scene.

The forest Karl dreamed of turned out to be the home of nymphs performing stellar acts on the Neo-Classical amphitheater. Going by the philosophy of ‘Art de vivre, not joie de vivre’, Chanel’s Spring Summer 2013 couture show had abundance of ornately crafted pieces made up of fur, lace, tweed and tulle predominantly. With melancholy as the emotion of the collection the blacks and white dominated it with sporadic splashes of red.

The accentuated shoulders, loads of sequins and print like embroidery were few of the highlights of the show.

For all those fashionistas who have no idea about the colors of our national flag, there is the high time to raise the fashion quotient as a bunch of brands and labels play with tri-colors this Republic Day.

Moreover, with Americana seemingly a hackneyed idea it’s time to indulge in patriotism (those colors are fun) and publicly display the affection for things Indian. Well! this might not pull the wrong triggers and pun be not taken as paeans, we focus on some really beautiful designs simply meant to make you happy this 26th January, and keep the spirit of the day.

The exclusive tri-color collection from Mineral features flowy creations in attractive prints and burst of tri-colors. Cotton dresses taking colors from our national flag come adorned with digital prints and bead embroidery – and can be complemented by jewels by Diagold. The exclusive collection by the brand titled ‘Peace Jewels’ is a scintillating mix of diamonds and white gold along with the use of precious stones in red, green and blue hues to resemble the colors of peace and sovereignty.

Contrariwise, if you are in mood to peep out of your quilt this Republic Day, or sit by the fireplace gorging over barbeque all wrapped up, just wear some quirky tri-color nail arts at home and have your fashionable say. Well for more enthusiastic ones there are designs ranging from the flag on the nail to zig-zag colors to Swarovski Ashoka Chakra at Xpressions Make-up Studio by Simmi & Shival Ghai.
