As for colours, black did not make it to the the list of the must-have colors in next year’s wardrobe. Instead, the choices lean toward bright shades like yellow and soft hues like lavender however, neutrals are still popular.

Designer stylist Shehla Khan, says, Spring 2018 is the revival of the late eighties and early 90s while for some the late seventies and early 80s.

Denim – lots of versions of denim in various silhouettes, could be a pant suit, dress, casual skirt, shorts even red carpet or the newest introduction – a denim drape sari!

Sheer – as much as I love the sheer look, 2018 brings it back with a glamorous edge. The fabric is perfect for any occasion and accentuates a woman’s curves.

Bling – bling in the form of sheeted jackets, overall sheeted sequin dresses, crystal coated accessories block heels or be it boots, are huge this year. Even richer fabrics like lame, velvet and brocade make a comeback!

Textured outfits – texture in the form of feathers, applique embroidery, fringes or tassels any texture that adds a bit of character to fabric surface is a must- have in your wardrobe.

Trench coat – this has made a comeback in various forms and fabrics be it leather coats, embellished/embroidered coats or the classic khakis which are edgy enough to add that oomph factor to your look. A desi version with embroidery finds favor for those willing to experiment.

Jewellery – tassels would be raging in 2018, be it on outfits or accessories. Tassel earrings and jewelled chokers from label Shehlaa are few pieces one must own. A simple denim suit or dress with jewelled shoes and an embellished handbag can just elevate ones evening look.

Adds stylist and designer Shehla Khan – “Drama has made its comeback and make sure you do not overdo it. Always stay true to your style quotient and make sure what you wear is something you are comfortable in. Don’t overdo it with accessories or makeup, it just ends up looking tacky!”
