Gucci’s show at Milan was ranging across inspirations from the 600 years and today. Alessandro Michele had thought about flowers and insects and 1970s rock stars, and he was thinking about Gucci and its archives and what was in there.

There were a number of new loafer styles that I’m sure several street style stars have already inquired about pre-ordering. Shoes had refined touches of wilderness, such as floral-print linings or hand-painted snake coils on the block heels of mules.

With 600 years as inspiration, footwear  used were fur-lined clogs and sandals, square toe sling backs, leaf print mules where upper were shaped in leaf with gold pippin and hand painted heal, lace bow pumps, embroidered and floral print loafers and t strap platforms offering subtler riffs on the theme.
