    September 1, 2015

    Review

Drawing inspiration from biblical times, Priyam Narayan’s paid homage to the modern independent women strongly rooted by feminism and talked about self-belief and strength.

The main focus on French artist Gustave Dore’s painting titled ‘The Song of Deborah’, Priyam gave an innovative reinterpretation to the basic silhouettes. Mooga silks, flat chiffons, georgette, satin linen and satin cotton with highlights of jute in tones of yellow and pink were highlighted beautiful Palestinian embroidery techniques like couching, tahriri and silk patch works.

The contemporary collection had everything from maxi dresses to jackets, kaftans, capes, etc. Structured shoulder dress in vibrant orange glided in with smooth movement of maxi. The yellow shirt dress with subtle embroidery also spoke of the calm and free portrayal of the mood.
