    October 12, 2015

    Review

Nida Mahmood’s ‘Junglee Billee’collection was inspired from the 60s Bombayand the city’s free-spirited attitude.

The ensembles feature Art Nouveau inspired prints, light layers, effortless fabrics and sporty silhouettes. The designer used print-friendly fabrics like georgettes, crepes and neo-prene extensively in a soft color palette, ranging from soft blues to lemons to pale oranges.

The main techniques used in the collection included printing and patchwork, through which Mahmood has tried to play with the concept of transparency and opacity as a strong design language. Gracing the ramp were series of colorful bomber jackets, shift dresses and saris draped on jeans.
