Mayank Anand and Shraddha Nigam “The Textile Brigade” was an eco-friendly collection that renewed the textile roots of India.
The silhouettes had unrestricted flow that had to be tamed to a more structured drape. The designers collected thousands of little fabric pieces which were meticulously stitched together to form a new fabric. The color pallet featured hues like hunter’s green and walnut brown with hints of gold.
Tunics, slit kurtas and army pants were bedecked with ropes, badges, tassels and gold plated buttons. Highlights of the collection were a tunic patched with different fabrics in the front, a plain khaki back swerved into a sari drape onto the shoulder and a multi-panel top that had a high low hem worn over straight pants.
