430Designer Sanchita Ajjampur has truly made her presence felt at the heart of the global fashion map with Italian President, Sergio Mattarella conferred upon her the honour of the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy.

The prestigious Ordine della Stella d’Italia or The Order of the Star of Italy, is the second highest civilian honour of Italy, instituted by the Italian government in 1947. Today, it recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in “preservation and promotion of national prestige abroad”.

Sanchita was felicitated for this achievement at an elegant soiree hosted by Mr. Ugo Ciarlatani, Italian Consul General and his wife, Vanessa, at their home in Mumbai. A relaxed affair on the terrace, friends and well-wishers arrived to congratulate and celebrated with the internationally acclaimed designer. Guests mingled while they tucked into exquisite Italian delicacies and wines. Those who attended the evening’s festivities included S.Raghunandhan, Nonita Kalra, Bandana Tewari, Ekta Rajani, Colston Julien, Parmesh Shahani, Nisha Jhangiani, Vinod Advani and Sangeeta Wadhwani, among others.
