Monisha Jaising unveiled her stellar couture collection at the opening show of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017, atop the international luxury cruise liner- Costa neo Classica, with Sonakshi Sinha as the showstopper, in orange dress striding across the 360 degree ramp by the sea.
Monisha brought in a dreamy elegance to one’s spring summer style with billowing silhouettes, glorious array of patterns, fully embellished party dresses and cocktail sarees. The creations are executed in black, gold, grey, white, rose pink, rose tan and occasionally injected with a pop of red, orange, fuchsia –infused with opulent fabrics – heavy bonded satin, wool crepe, Italian organza, chikankari, metal encrusted chain mail and much more.
The collection unashamedly veers towards extravagant evening wear, contemporary and stately silhouettes, an effortless approach of “cocktail sarees” & billowing skirts with tight bodices’. That sentiment – the lighthearted dance floor celebration of glitz and glamour –is the lingering takeaway from this spring – summer collection.
