Master couturier and one of the leading names in the fashion fraternity Manav Gangwani, presented his latest couture collection “India @ 70” to celebrate India’s 70 years of independence at the Stockholm Culture Festival, hosted by the Ambassador of India, Monika Kapil Mohta in partnership with India Unlimited an organization connecting Sweden to India hosted alongside gala dinner at the Radisson Waterfront Congress Hotel.

Keeping in mind thetheme for this occasion, Manav showcased his latest haute couture collection “India @ 70”, the collection is an amalgamation of the rich heritage of India along with modern
edgy elements from different regions like Kashmir reflecting Jamawars, Bandhanis of Rajasthan, Kathakali from Kerala and Brocades of Varanasi. Using different techniques like Badla, Chikankari, Zardosi & Parsi etc. From the God Goddesses of India to Meenakari to Patolas to Panthani all forms have been used to reflect India. The colour pallet were hues that are most commonly seen in India, royal blue, crimson, ivory, orange and green.

The event was attended by eminent guests from all over the globe, some including, three Swedish Ministers: Minister Mikael Damberg, Minister. Ann Linde and Minister Anna Ekström.
