The international iconic model, Ninja Singh makes her grand debut in India as she walks for ace designers at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014. This 5 feet 11 inch tall diva belongs to Delhi and completed her high school from St. Mary’s School. As she pursues her graduation in dentistry from the prestigious Columbia University, she proves to be the perfect and the much needed combination of beauty with brains. Here are a few details that you would like to know about her:

Q: Has becoming a model always been your sole ambition in life?

Oh yes indeed! It was like a ‘dream come true’ situation for me.

Q: When did you kick start your career as a model?

Well it excitingly started in 2012, in New York when I joined Marilyn Model Management in New York, home to Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Coco Rocha.

Q: What were your earlier experiences as model? Briefly elaborate on your participations, achievements etc. till now.

Ah! My experiences have been great till now. If I rewind back in time, the first thing that strikes me is the point when I became the Indian winner of Ford Supermodel of the World contest in 2011. Some of my recent experiences include my debut at the Paris Fashion Week 2014. Besides, I walked the ramp for Balenciaga’s fall 2013 look-book. Rest it has been unusually great to be associated with brands like Topshop, Sephora and Monte Carlo. Now I eagerly wait for the Lakme Fashion Week, my debut in the Indian fashion industry.

Q: What are your expectations from the Lakme Fashion Week?

I’m exhilarant about my debut in India. Having walked on a platform as huge as the Lakme Fashion Week, I expect more publicity, more work coming my way and more doors opening for me. I’ll be walking the ramp for the likes of Tarun Tahiliani and Anita Dongre, wherein I expect a couple of production houses approaching me. All in all, I think the times post fashion week are going to keep me occupied with an increasing amount of business at my footsteps.

Q: What is your fashion style statement?

Fashion for me is everything that makes me look beautiful. It’s all about yourself and how you carry yourself. As long as you carry yourself in a style that compliments you and your body language, its fashion!

Q: What is your definition for Indian fashion?

Sadly, I feel that fashion in India is over-rated. Things happen seemingly at a later stage in this country. I feel that people too are exaggerative, and the designers here too, design not for Indians but for the people in Middle-east. This is with reference to the recurring on-sale market in the Middle-east.

Q: What do your future prospects sound like?

I ambitiously look forward to opening my own grooming school in India. Through it, I purport to help a normal woman in becoming a better housewife, a better person and groom her to a level which is at, both mine and her efficiency-best. I want to succeed in bringing out the hidden model in every women of this country.
