The Canadian born Thomas Tait proudly bagged the First LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize. Giving a cut-throat competition to challenging designers like Suno, Chris Gelinas, Simone Rocha, Jacquemus, Tait received €300,000 after one whole year of guidance and mentoring.

A graduate from Central Saint Martins, Tait was presented the award by Delphine Arnault and a jury including Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Marc Jacobs and Phoebe Philo.

However along with the winning prize, the competition was also accompanied by two runners up ‘special prize’ winners who received a grant of €100,000 and a year of mentoring. The lucky ones were Miuniku from Mumbai, India and Hood by Air from New York.

Henceforth, Tait looks forward expanding his scale of wholesale business along with opening his own flagship store. He also plans to add accessories and a skin care line to his label.
