Taylor Swift has loaned this pink gown for the Atlanta exhibition.Atlanta is becoming the hot new metropolitan fashion hub. The Savannah College of Art and Design has chosen Atlanta to unveil its new SCADfash Museum of Fashion.

The fashion museum will occupy 10,000 and will host international fashion exhibitions, films and lectures for students and the public, houses one-of-a-kind garments designed by the world’s leading fashion houses, as well as ensembles from SCAD’s permanent collection. SCADfash features a public gallery space, a fashion conservation lab and a media library for educational film and digital presentations.

The museum will open with an inaugural exhibition, titled Oscar de la Renta which will run from October 3 through December 21. The exhibition will celebrate the late designer and feature garments from the mid-1960s through the present, included some from the brand’s new creative director Peter Copping. This exhibit will also feature the film “Ovation for Oscar,” which premiered during Cannes Film Festival. There will also be objects donated by well-heeled women such as Former First Lady Laura Bush, Taylor Swift and Oprah Winfrey.

Among future programming planned for SCADfash is “i feel ya: SCAD + André Benjamin” and “Art x Fashion,” which will explores the influences of art on design and vice versa.
