Eminent designer, Raghavendra Rathore unveiled his collection, ‘Bandhgala Alliance’ at the Fashion Night. The collection paid tribute to the effortless amalgamation of tailored looks for men and women representing an unspoken union between the genders over a garment so definitive yet so versatile.
Known for his metamorphosis of the Jodhpur Bandhgala jacket and suit, Raghavendra Rathore said “With the new GST regime, a new decorum is required when working with handloom weavers, artisans and other suppliers who contribute in creating the essentials of a collection, that a designer brand churns out for its precious customers. The collection being presented, is a well calibrated collection that has a strong handloom indulgence, with a focus of the inspiration being the classic Jodhpuri Bandhgala.”
But what stood out at the show this year was how a single piece of men’s clothing inspired the designer to create an entire range of women’s clothing, as well. The showstopper Anil Kapoor, looked every bit suave and splendid in a balck hand woven achkan with intricate craftsmanship, custom made by weaver in Bhadohi paired with breeches and pink pocket square to complete the regal attire.
