Paris Fashion Week Spring 2016 kicked started with a bang. Known and upcoming designers showed some very interesting and splendid spring collections.

Tuomas Merikoski for his label Aalto presented “Endless Sun” line, inspired by the Nordic mid-summer. The collection played with cuts on white dresses and asymmetric beige skirts. Sleeves were slashed at the front midway or all the way down and oversize mom jeans came with a fold detail. Models wore loose tailored suits as well as long dresses over trousers, sometimes with large jumpers on top. Nehera’s spring collection by designer Samuel Drira was beautiful amalgamation of sculpted silhouettes and soft colors like white, cream and beige. A sense of elegance came through laid-back trim pants, ankle-length skirts, asymmetrical tank tops and Asian-inspired judo-style jackets.

Each x Other’s spring offering had some romantic military and maiden references. The range showed shiny cropped officers jackets, white shirts wrapped with black lacing on the sleeves, corsets with diagonal closures on the front, slipdress and moto jacket.  Léa Peckre presented a stunning collection where she played between softness and strength. Inspired by the landscapes of David Lynch’s sci-fi movie “Dune” she showed chiffon pleated skirts with cracked geometric motifs made from panels of silk and denim. Broad-shouldered Japanese denim jacket structured with built-in belts and a Touareg blue pleated dress incorporating subtle horizontal bands of silk were outstanding.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen presented a luxury lineup for The Row which was stunning and super intimate. An ivory jacket, generously cut and relaxed in fit, was worn undone over a scant triangle bra; a gauzy sheer dress floated in gentle pleats over a bra top and miniskirt, and a black slipdress came precisely chopped well above midthigh. Designer Kunihiko Morianga’s spring collection for Anrealage was about reflections. He showcased pleated black dress with a top that reflected the skirt, a ruffled black dress which revealed it to be fluorescent green, gray monotone knitwear came with illuminating turquoise stripes and white top-cum-skirt combos with quirky circular cutouts that assumed a three-dimensional quality.

Anthony Vaccarello’s spring lineup unveiled varied and stunning looks like Army green canvas jacket with matching wrap miniskirt., conservative crisp white shirts with porcelain blue prints paired with classic blue and red and white sequined dresses with pixelated face motifs. Simon Porte Jacquemus’s ingenious collection for his brand Jacquemus featured clothes that were raw, cute and sexy. Models wore Navy jackets, white shirts and red minidresses and skirts that were dissected into halves, occasionally quarters.

Danish Designer Anne Sofie Madsen spring 2016 collection showed outfits that covered the body and exposed it at the same time. The range featured oversize trench, palazzo pants made from curling seamless denim panels, embellished nude tulle top, flesh-toned dresses, and beige maxi trench with undulating black-lined panels on the lower half. Koche’s spring line was beautiful mélange of couture techniques and streetwear silhouettes. Gracing the ramp were designs like oversize denim bomber jacket embroidered with scraps of tulles, sports bra festooned with colorful sequins, slick black tuxedo jacket, nylon sweatpants, body-hugging tank tops and tennis dresses.
