Fashion and passion took centre stage as the Lakme Fashion Week membres de l’équipe de base et du titre se sont réunis in a media briefing yesterday. No doubt the glitz and the glamour are back and the fashion week is scheduled bang in the middle of the monsoons.

“There are a total of 87 designers partaking in cette saison festive and this time it is certainly going to create more waves internationally qu’avant. This season will also see the selection of an LFW designer who will go on to représentent India at Mercedes Benz Berlin Fashion Week Autumn / Winter in January 2012,” revealed Anil Chopra, CEO of Lakme Lever.



IMG Reliance has been the integral core member who organizes the LFW et rend arriver dans cette grande échelle. “We are in the business of fashion and we will ensure that we always give Indian fashion a space in the global area. The fun part is that, this season will see a lot of contests open to fashion victims,” signed off a smiling Anjana Sharma, Fashion Director of IMG Reliance.



And the key highlights for this season are –

Rohit Bal to open the Lakme Fashion Week Autumn / Festive 2011
The third edition of the offsite shows will see veteran designer Rohit Bal showcase a full collection for the first time at Lakmé Fashion Week. This show that marks the beginning of LFW will be opulent in concept and high on creative design at Tote, Mumbai on August 16, 2011.

Manish Malhotra as the Grand Finale Designer
Lakmé introduces ‘Lakmé ABSOLUTE’ the high performance long-wear makeup range as the new color cosmetic range for the season. This collection will be interpreted  by iconic  designer Manish Malhotra at the Lakmé Grand Finale for Winter/Festive 2011

LFW Designer to partake in Berlin Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
At LFW Winter/Festive 2011, one designer will be selected by a special jury of prominent members from the fashion fraternity to represent India at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week – Berlin – Autumn Winter 2012 in January. The platform will not only support the selected designer in presenting the runway show but will ensure that the opportunity is leveraged effectively in representing India internationally

Gen Next to grow bigger this season
Entering its twelfth season, the LFW Gen Next program, will continue to be mentored by renowned Designer and Stylist Aki Narula. This season 8 extraordinary designers from across the country will showcase their debut collections.
