Following the international concept of funding fashion designers, Fashion Design Council of India, in association with Westside and a leading International fashion magazine, announced designer Aneeth Arora as the winner of Fashion Fund 2012.
The Delhi-based designer known for her quirky mix of fabrics was picked from the six finalists who were shortlisted after a nationwide hunt spanning over 5 months, whilst Payal Pratap Singh also from Delhi was announced as the runner-up.
Aneeth was chosen after a rigorous judging criterion that involved conceptualizing a 3 garment capsule collection and presenting a business plan that would justify her winning this much coveted award.
The jury comprising of the names like Sunil Sethi, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Suneet Varma amongst others had a hard time to choose the winner as the other finalists included the renowned names of Indian fashion like Rahul Mishra, Amit Aggarwal, Nitin Bal Chauhan and Pankaj and Nidhi.
