The Grand Finale NIFT Mumbai Final Year Graduation show 2015, followed the Make in India theme by showcasing the traditional weaves & crafts from Maharashtra.

Joining the movement of ‘saving traditional crafts’ from extinction were actors Rati Agnihotri, Kiran Joneja Sippy, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Asha Sachdev, Tanaaz Bhaktiar Irani, Juhi Babbar, Anup Soni, Singers Sharon Prabhakar, Geetu Hinduja, artists Sunil Padwal, Arzan Khambatta, Krsna Mehta, designer Nisha JamVwal , sculptor Kayur Patel, critic Bhawana Somaaya, Lawyer Mrunalini Deshmukh, theatre persona Dolly Thakore, Gynac Rishma Dhillon Pai.

Offlate, NIFT Mumbai with its support from its Director Nilima Rani Singh, has been aggressively involved in reviving the Crafts of Maharashtra by bringing them to the mainstream Commercial platform & trying to upgrade the livelihood of the artisans by teaching those new designs & techniques with the help of Centre and the State Govt.
