This vivacious and happy-go-lucky designer is a B.tech HND in Fashion Design graduate from the prestigious Fashion Designing at Academy of Design in Colombo. With a rare seven years of experience in garment export trade, the designer has come a long way ever since. She launched her eponymous label in 2013 which caters exclusively to the youthful and fashionable crowd that lures for garments with an individualistic global feel.
Speaking of her earlier years in the fashion arena, Yasisurie is known to work with companies like Brandix and Timex. Her mainstream fashion experience includes being associated with the likes of Ann Taylor, Reebok, Target, TopShop, Next UK, Wallis, Gerry Weber Germany, Juicy Couture, Dorothy Perkins and Gerson and Gerson amongst others.
Alongside creating some ethnic and chic creations, the designer also excels in the art of pattern draping which she learnt under George Regukos from DKNY.
Over the years, Yasisurie has succeeded to make an everlasting impact on the fashion world. Some of her career boosting achievements include her being the second runner up in the Evening wear category, during the Designer of the year competition held in 2012. She also won the ‘Gen- Next’ award at the Colombo Fashion Week 2014, thereby claiming herself as the most promising designer at the show.
Marking her milestone debut appearance at the Colombo fashion week, the designer now looks forward to touching unattainable heights. She currently retails her clothing from numerous online shopping portals like www.wow.lk, www.cfwcurates.com and www.ynotu.in. Moreover, she also sells her collection through the upmarket designer store in Colombo, Mangosteen at 32.
