Expecting nothing less of absolute perfection from legendary designer Ralph Lauren, we have again been left in awe of the multitalented fashion mogul after a month of building anticipation following the debut of the designer’s new restaurant in Paris.  Ralph’s, located at 173 Boulevard Saint Germain in the lively Left Bank of Paris, shares its home with the newest Polo Ralph Lauren flagship store.  The restoration of this newly opened, exquisite space was a monumental undertaking, lasting nearly four years.  The 13,000 square foot space, brimming with works of art from around the globe, is the designer’s largest European location, boasting an impressive 6 floors of nearly every Ralph Lauren collection piece ever made.  Handcrafted wood canoes, studded leather sofas, and antique horse and hound paintings grace both the retail space and the dining room.  Interestingly enough, it is not the wears nor the Parisian culture of this new flagship that are causing a stir, it’s Ralph’s.

Known for its rich American fare, unadorned and unaltered, the restaurant’s posh décor presents a playful mix of white linen tablecloths, country club décor, and burgers.  Yes, burgers, and for € 24 ($32.50).  The four most celebrated menu items are the burger, the steak (made with beef from the designer’s Colorado cattle ranch), the fried chicken, and last, the crab cakes.  With chefs like Stephane D’Aboville from Le Bristol in New York, restaurant manager Olivier Maury of L’Ami Louis (hailed my most as the best classic bistro in Paris), and the iconic entrepreneur and designer, Ralph Lauren, this eclectic joining of clothes and cuisine will prove to be one for the history books.
