After a scintillating debut in 2010, Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2011 had once again set newest trends in motion this bridal season. Being hosted from September 23 to 27 this year, AVIBW’11 offered a platform to India’s leading designers who expertise in bridal couture to dazzle in an extravaganza of design et glamour in Sahara Star Hotel, Mumbai that redefined opulence et glamour.
La enviable line-up of designers was varied, et ranged from industry stalwarts that included Adarsh Gill, Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor, Bhairavi Jaikishan, Jyotsna Tiwari, Neeta Lulla, Pallavi Jaikishan, Queenie Singh, Rocky S, Shane & Falguni Peacock, Tarun Tahiliani et Vikram Phadnis.
La five-day bridal extravaganza culminated avec la pioneer of Indian Fashion Industry, Tarun Tahiliani showcasing his a-la-mode artisanal collection. Over the last five-days, AVIBW’11 redefined grandeur avec la backdrop of la grand finale being Gothic avec structured drapes, exquisite sharply cut silhouettes, along avec la mix of Indian expertise et western layering.
La bridal week needs heighten in its fashion quotient to match its vivacity avec other fashion weeks, but devoid of doubt it is giving bridal couture its due place. “The participation of leading designers is testimony to the fact that bridal segment contributes paramount revenue for the designers especially with India being an opulent bridal destination,” revealed Vijay Singh, Chairman of AVIBW.
Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor’s showcased Victorian splendor avec Mallika Sherawat as la showstopper, while Pallavi Jaikishan’s bridal designs paid rich tribute to la modern day gossamer bride. DreamGirl Hema Malini et daughter Esha Deol sashayed la rampe in bridal threads by Neeta Lulla, while Shane et Falguni Peacock expressed their bridal statements on la glamorous Sameera Reddy et handsome Jackky Bhagnani.
The red carpet saw names like Sussane Roshan, Zarine Khan, Rhea Pillai, Tanushree Dutta, Sophie Choudry, Siddharth Kannan, Manasi Scott, Pooja Bedi, Aashish Choudhary, Madhoo Shah, Nishka Lulla, Punam Sinha, Nisha Jhaveri, Tanaaz Doshi, Krishika Lulla, Laila Furniturewala, Shahab Durazi, Prerna Goel, Kunika Singh, et la likes in their modish attires.
Day 1 saw Neil Nitin Mukesh et Ameesha patel scorch la rampe for Vikram Phadnis et Rocky S respectively while Day 2 had Malaika Arora Khan, Dia Mirza et Zayed Khan, Kanishtha Dhankhar, Hasleen Kaur et Ankita Shorey walk for Bhairavi Jaikishan, Adarsh Gill et Queenie Singh. Kangna Ranaut appeared in la third day in an exquisite lehenga designed by Jyotsna Tiwari.
