Get ready for fashion week’s last show under the tents at Bryant Park as the twice-annual event moves uptown from its original home to the Lincoln Center beginning in September 2010.  This upcoming season, which will take place from February 11th to the 18th, will include more than 70 shows, a number that has doubled from when the event first began in 1993 with about 35 shows.

As expected, IMG remains the driving force behind New York Fashion Week, with Mercedes Benz and Olympus alternately serving as major sponsors. In a press release, Fern Mallis, Senior Vice President of IMG remarked, “all of us at IMG Fashion are excited about the outstanding and stellar lineup which has come together from around the world to share in this historic Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week…This will be a significant season, as we reflect on 17 years, 31 seasons and close to 2,500 fashion shows in Bryant Park that have launched many careers….from Designers to Editors, Models, Producers, Celebrities, TV Commentators and Reality Shows. We all also look forward to the change – and September’s move to Damrosch Park in Lincoln Center.”
