Last evening, glamorous Rome came to chic Frankfurt for a red-carpet affair, as Bulgari revealed its new boutique in the design concept by Peter Marino to clients and celebrities.

The celebrities sparkled the night away in breath-taking one of a kind High Jewellery creations, which were especially brought from Rome to Frankfurt for the occasion.

The invitation-only, Italian glamour-inspired soiree began with red-carpet arrivals gathering outside, and treated to an oversized, illuminated Serpenti installation in the storefront: a luminescent and contemporary introduction to show one of Bulgari’s most iconic pieces. After a short ribbon-cutting ceremony, the new store design was revealed to the invitees with a champagne reception inside its doors. The invitees were warmly welcomed by Jean-Christophe Babin (CEO Bulgari), Fabrizio Buonamassa (Creative Director Watches), Lelio Gavazza (Managing Director Europe/Middle East/Africa), Sandra Mohsni (Managing Director Northern Europe) and Deniz Imdat (Store Manager Frankfurt).

BMW Art Car reloaded: Chinese multimedia artist Cao Fei takes the series into the 21st Century by going digital,with the World Premiere of the latest BMW Art Car at the Minsheng Art Museum in Beijing.

Cao Fei’s work is a reflection on the speed of change in China, on tradition and future. With her BMW Art Car project, she delves into a trajectory spanning thousands of years, paying tribute to Asia’s ancient spiritual wisdom as it swiftly spreads out into the third millennium.

The body of work consists of three different components: a video focusing on a time travelling spiritual practitioner, augmented reality features picturing colorful light particles, accessible via a dedicated app (App Store: keyword “BMW Art Car #18”), and the BMW M6 GT3 race-car in its original carbon black. Paying tribute to the carbon fibre structure of the race-car chassis, Cao Fei’s holistic use of a non-reflective black incorporates the car into the possibilities of the digital world.

Following her announcement, over three years, Cao Fei took part in a racing experience with female race driver Cyndie Allemann in Switzerland in 2015. During manifold visits to headquarters, she worked closely with BMW Group’s engineers, designers, and digital specialists. For her research, the artist also went on an extended BMW plant visit to Tiexi.

Dario Viejo, decided to combine his creations with those of a sophisticated designer, Rene Ruiz, who is to be recognized for his peculiar preference for creating his own textiles, it’s all about minutiae and the designer makes a clear statement concerning details cautiously applied to luxurious couture.

There’s a special kind of art expression to the way people chose to dress themselves. Art can be projected in many ways and it itself constitutes a means to portraying thoughts and ideas with no need for words, says the designer.
