The holiday- centric collection has made a swift change using silk kaftans and short tunics with texture prints with superior hand feel. Moving away from the traditional style, this exclusive line involves kaftans that have been made using drape technique with interesting silhouettes, giving it a flowy look. The digital prints and color fusion curate a breezy, yet elegant look in animal as well as floral prints .

Sri Lanka hosted a glitzy evening, at the“Face of Sri Lanka” pageant held at The Hangover Hostels, in Colombo city. The event saw contestants come forward with their A-Game in Fashion.

Furthermore, more than 100 top students, as part of the Youth Fashion Summit presented a draft for the first-ever UN resolution on fashion. At educators Summit, 100 academics coming from leading international institutions came together to give the next generation’s perspective on tomorrow’s innovations.

The 2017 Summit addressed four specific paths to sustainability: the macro perspective, circular design, supply chain transparency and sustainable consumption. All four paths pertained to topics that are of opportunity, as uncovered in the inaugural Pulse of the Fashion Industry report, jointly researched and produced by Global Fashion Agenda and the Boston Consulting Group.

Whilst, this year’s commitment was a call to action by Global Fashion Agenda to create a unified effort among fashion brands and retailers to increase the extent to which garments and footwear are collected, reused and recycled. The experts called on them to lead the way and make a public commitment to actively take steps to accelerate the fashion industry´s transition to a more circular system.

Her collection is an amalgamation of intricate bhandani, chikankari in sarees, suits, lehengas and dupattas available in various silhouettes and embellishments of thread work, gotapatti, zardozi, applique to name a few.

The sensibilities in designing ensembles is a beautiful marriage between various sorts of gracious embroideries like zardozi, French knot, chikankari, applique, gotapatti and weaving like Benarasi, says the designer.

“Every culture has its own way of dressing, and that’s what you have to always respect and keep in mind,” says the designer.

His collection of Kaftans feature vibrant embroidery and jackets with gold tassels with quirky motifs. A bling white blouse and hunter green jacket in the collection are both decorated with fully beaded collars, along with embroidered roses and dice, which is been a key trend of the season.

VLCC, has signed a license agreement with the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), thepremier Kochi-based marine research establishment of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Government of India, for exclusive rights to manufacture, market and use Cadalmin™ Antihypercholesterolemic (Cadalmin™ ACe) extract.

These marine algae based nutraceutical product hasbeen developed after years of intensive research by CMFRI and has been found to be effective incombating dyslipidemia 1 and obesity.

As per CMFRI’s research, Cadalmin™ Ace provides a unique blend of 100 per cent natural marine bioactive ingredients from selected seaweeds known for their extraordinary medicinal properties, with an eco-friendly ‘green’ technology.

VLCC will be working closely with the CMFRI to source relevant seaweed and manufacture the product as per CMFRI developed technology.
