Those who have been a regular shopper with Ikea, must have been familiar with their blue frakta bag. Lately, Balenciaga released their brand-new bag worth $2,150 – a blue bag that looked eerily like Ikea’s classic carry bag.

In its new ad IKEA pokes fun of designer Balenciaga bag. The ad is a response to Balenciaga’s “Arena Extra-Large Shopping Tote,” for a price tag of $2,145, which looks just like the IKEA “FRAKTA” shopping bag and costs 2,000 percent more than the original.

While in India, Amazon in line with its vision to transform the way India buys and sells, conducted its first regional workshop in Narmada to train and enable tribal entrepreneurs in Gujarat. As a part of the overall collaboration with the Gujarat Tribal Development Department, over 15% of the total population of Gujarat is tribal and consists of over 5000 artisans from across 14 districts. Through the workshop, these artisans were trained on how to sell products online and fetch an appropriate price for their unique products, is an effort to help raise the overall standard of living of these artisans.

Back in US, Amazon launches the new Alexa Echo Look, a styling device that can help users decide what to wear. It allows shoppers to take full-length photos and short videos using a hands-free camera that is voice-activated and has built-in LED lighting, depth-sensing camera, and computer vision-based background blur.

The Style Check feature combines machine-learning algorithms with advice from fashion specialists and will suggest new brands and styles inspired by the user’s personal lookbook.

The Stefani Ricci, Crystal line is made of the highest quality of fine crystal, both hand worked and decorated by Florentine artisans, and features five exclusive decors, all of which may be engraved, hand decorated or ground. These exclusive decors come in four different models of elegant crystal glassware – Signoria, Tornabuoni, Pitti and Princess – along with various table and home ornaments.

The Soft Cashmere, Chisel and Tuscan Leaves decors feature elegant curves, exclusively hand engraved with a meticulous attention to the smallest details, making each piece unique. Once drawn by hand on the actual surface of the crystal, the design is engraved with the help of a traditional artisan stone burr. This delicate technique gives the design a beautiful opaque effect, thus creating a contrast with the brilliant surface of the crystal.

All the engraved decors can be further enriched with liquid gold or platinum. These exquisite pieces come about when artisans hand paint the previously engraved pattern on the surface of the crystal with a soft brush.

“Fashion is something that comes from within you,” quips noteworthy fashion designer Seema Khan, as she delves deep into the realms of authenticity coupled with her unique design sense to envision her brand-new Summer Collection 2017 that is grunge and hip, yet far from ordinary.

Ruffles were her main inspiration, from small to large tousles, she uses this aesthetic across tops, shirts and dresses for striking drama.
Unique silhouettes and fabrics take prominence across her creations, in light cottons, checks, stripes and Washed Chambray, a material that looks like denim but is very light in waistcoats, signature big pocket pants, skirts and shirts with metallic badges.

Philipp Plein will host his first runway show with a co-ed collection for Cruise 2018, during the upcoming Cannes Film Festival at his own opulent mansion, called ‘La Jungle du Roi’ (King of the Jungle in English). My Cannes villa is a place of tranquillity and inspiration for me. I enjoy spending time here and many of my ideas were conceived on these grounds, says the designer.

The show will also extend into an evening, for the launch of fashion capsule created by his close friend Alec Monopoly, who is a New York-based graffiti artist.

Who is Gabrielle?

Over the last few weeks CHANEL has released three short films starring Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne and Caroline de Maigret, all made for CHANEL’s GABRIELLE bag campaign; the fourth and final opus in the saga features singer Pharrell Williams directed by Antoine Carlier, the French creator of pop videos and music documentaries.

In this film, Pharrell Williams discovers an empty concert hall that becomes a veritable playground for the singer. He slides over crates of material scattered here and there and plays the tightrope walker along a metal beam, CHANEL’s GABRIELLE bag slung over his shoulder.

“My character in the movie is a guy that’s probably…really into Chanel, a lot like I am right now. And a lot like myself, he probably just didn’t want to take the bag off.” revealed the American star at the end of the shoot.
