1Attending International Fashion weeks is an experience in itself, especially when you are dealt with graciously and professionally, very unlike of hypocrisy at home. Nevertheless,in its pursuit to stand by its resolve to nurture fresh talent FDCI announced the names of six budding designers who are set to present their collections at India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016.

One of them being, Love Birds, label for a modern woman who leads an active life. They are keen on dressing the global woman of the metropolitans. Ikai by Ragini Ahuja aims to create incredibly practical clothing with relaxed fits and natural textiles that exude luxury with no hint of pretence.

While Dhruv Kapur’s design employ discreet detailing to create luxurious, timeless, elegant, utilitarian, unisex clothes from fine, natural, locally sourced fabrics.  Anavila is centered around comfortable and earthy hand woven textiles that are inspired by nature.  On the other hand Shalini James’s label is an exotic potpourri of everything Indian in silhouettes that are sometimes ethnic, sometimes contemporary, and mostly a unique mix of both. Though Nimish Shah is at the stall, has a range of sophisticated separates that are instilled with a sense of modernity to create novel expressions.

This time around IFW will also witness the launch ‘First Cut’, a new initiative for emerging designers that recognises India’s most promising fashion talent. Starting from Example by Moutushi & Rituraj to the Meraki Project, who uses organic cotton, Ikat, linen and silks that are hand woven all over India. Asa is a label that thrives on experiments with textiles, dyes and design, comprising easy and straight-forward silhouettes.

Lola offers clean and uncluttered designs which are a refreshing take on contemporary luxury. Vitasta and Dvibhumi is an accessory brand, with formers motto of everyday luxury that steers clear from the uniformity of mass production while later is an independent label on a simple quest to find a contemporary identity for jewellery rooted in Asian heritage.

India Fashion week SS16 hosted by FDCI will take place between Oct 7 -11, 2015 at NSCI grounds, so situate yourself sooner than the petitioning process .

Offlate, New York Fashion Week witnessed The Blonds night time fashion show inspired by Egypt, at MADE at Milk Studios in New York City.

Known for crafting exquisitely distinctive stage costumes, the designer duo of The Blonds used extensive array of colors and shapes, inspired by Preciosa’s sparkling, lead-free crystals to enhance their luxurious, star-studded garments.

“We become so obsessed with a theme that we get entrenched in it and then we exhaust ourselves,” said David Blond. And it is easy to see with such highly embellished, crystal costumes using more than 173 thousand crystals to accentuate the Egyptian outfits fit for Cleopatra herself.

The Blonds have left their shining impression on many Hollywood performers such as Arianna Grande, Fergie, Madonna and most recently, Miley Cyrus. Pop stars love donning the iconic, attention-grabbing Preciosa crystal-encrusted bodysuits created by Phillipe and David.

Famous pastry school, Academy of Pastry Arts India in association with IFCA organized Pastry Cup 2015, an all India level selection for Asia Pastry Cup at its center in Udyog Vihar Phase IV, Gurgaon.

Judged by a renowned panel of judges from WACS, the competition saw participating teams like MBD Hotel Noida, ITC Sheraton, Le Meridien and The Academy of Pastry Arts team preparing delicious and artistic pastries for the competition. The competition was followed by demonstration, food tasting and consultations with chefs.

Fashion 4 Development's 5th Annual Official First Ladies LuncheonIn a beautiful evening at The Pierre Hotel, New York, Fashion 4 Development held its fifth annual First Ladies luncheon celebrating dignitaries and fashion figures for their efforts on global change.

The evening honored Josie Maran with the Eco Award for her brand’s safe practices, model Naomi Campbell won Gold Heart Award for combating Ebola through her Fashion for Relief organization. Victoria Beckham also honored with Fashion 4 Development by Livia firth who also pleaded the guests to enact social change in regards to clothing manufacturing before.

Sara Cavazza presented a runway show featuring her latest creations. Chinese designer Guo Pei also showcased her dazzling designs including the standout Rihanna-worn gold gown from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s China: Through the Looking Glass.

Also in attendance were prominent women from various nations, including Queen Rania of Jordan and Mrs. Ban Soon-taek. Also present at the event were Diane Kruger, Evie Evangelou and Franca Sozzani to name a few.

Ralph Lauren RTW Spring 2016Ace designer Ralph Lauren has opened the door to his namesake brand’s first-ever private luxury club in Milan.

Aptly called the Palazzo Ralph Lauren, the new club has an area of 12,000-square-foot and is built inside a grand apartment. The luxury shopping destination features an expansive rooftop terrace, exclusive Ralph Lauren pieces such as the Automotive Skeleton watch and crocodile Ricky bags, and even an in-house chef.

There are also exclusive shopping suites, which house apparel and accessories for men and women. The furniture and hurricane lamps on the terrace, all from the Ralph Lauren Home collection, are also available for purchase.

The Palazzo Ralph Lauren will also host private events several times a year to highlight new collections, craftsmanship demonstrations and ongoing private appointments. Resembling a home more than a store and designed to forge personal relationships with its VIP customers, the club is accessible by appointment.

430Lately, Sunil Sethi hosted a grand evening of fashion, with a collection by JJ Valaya for Singh is Bling,at Yes Minister in Essex Farms, New Delhi.

The event featured Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Amy Jackson accompanied by movie producer Asvini Yardi and director Prabhu. The actors sauntered the ramp in a “bling” themed fashion showing put together by Harmeet Bajaj.

430With an impassioned plea to end poverty, artists, celebrities, world leaders and activists around the world came together at the Great Lawn in Central, New York City for The fourth-annual Global Citizen Festival.

This year Gucci and Chime for Change served as presenting partners of the festival and welcomed 60,000 fans to the event. The event was hosted by Stephen Colbert, Kerry Washington, Salma Hayek Pinault, Olivia Wilde and other top celebrities. Dynamic performances by Beyoncé, Coldplay, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Pearl Jam revved up the crowd.

Leaders like first lady Michelle Obama and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and teen activist Malala Yousafzai encouraged world leaders to join forces to advance educational resources for girls and women. Obama introduced a new campaign aimed to increase access to education for girls called the #62MillionGirls campaign.

Arjun Kapoor, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kajol Devgan, Freida Pinto, Jay Z, Kerry Washington, François-Henri Pinault, Usher, Jason Sudeikis, Laverne Cox, Katie Holmes, Marco Bizzarri, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill and Melinda Gates also attended the event, along with multiple world leaders, including U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

1The UK’s biggest fitness expo, BodyPower Expo2016 is going to be much bigger and better than ever before as it is embarking on a pan-India/multicity talent hunt & Educational tour this October.

The BodyPower team will travel from 3rd to 11 October in nine cities of India including New Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.  The expo team will organize a multicity Fitness Model hunt ‘FitFactor India- Auditions’ in the nine cities to select the best professional athletes in India and give them an opportunity to compete at Asia’s largest fitness, sports & bodybuilding expo, The BodyPower Expo 2016.

GiorgioLast day of Milan Fashion Week 2016 saw a fascinating collection by Giorgio Armani. The collection titled “Fil Rouge” played with various shades of red, usual clean cut and elegant designs. There were transparent trousers and pinky sunrise stripes that gave clothes an ombré effect, as well as a plethora of pink-toned grey shorts suits and boleros in tapestries of red, white and navy. He mixed textures, patterns and played with veils to create layers. Sheer skirts and dresses were worn over shorts and trousers with sparkling fringed ponchos adding the finishing touch. Shiny beading decorated jacket and shorts combinations. Ending the show were three trios of sparkly evening gowns that were just outstanding.

Vivetta Ponti showed a collection which was completely immersed in her quirky aesthetic. The lineup was filled with ingenious decorations and girly silhouettes. Outfits like poplin shirts with embroidered collars, ruffled apron skirts, suits with flared pants and tailored jackets were adorned with prints of gingham, cats and poppy flower fields. Emerging designer, Arthur Arbesser’s spring offering had lots of chic, solid and wearable ensembles including a striped knit shift, two white sweaters each with a single floral motif, and a pair of overalls done in a gentle utilitarian cut and featuring a faded a watercolor cat print. Fatima Val showcased a black and white dominated collection featuring stunning leather pieces, flared trousers, asymmetrical dresses with slits, and jumpsuit with deep neck. The collection also had some appealing grey outfits.

The last day also saw some eclectic and mesmerizing spring collections from San Andres Milano, Mila SchÖN and Angelo Marani.
