1With a strong belief in individuality and personalised style statements, this designer duo curated their eponymous label in May 2010. The label kicked off as an Indian line initially and eventually ventured into modern luxury and pret clothing.

Of the two, Varun specifically feels passionate for variegated colour schemes and delivering a strong sense of perfection through his creations. Some of the milestone achievements of his life include his winning the ‘The Best Creative Collection’ award for his mind blowing graduation show. His early years of experience list to working and gaining commendable experience from philanthropic designers like Manish Arora and Rohit Bal.

Nidhika Gogia on the other hand proves to be the balancing factor for the label. For her graduation project, she was awarded ‘The Best Commercial Collection’ award. She gained her technical and on-field expertise by getting trained under the ace designer Namrata Joshipura.

Speaking of the designers as a team, their quintessential standout feature is the personal connection which they develop with every single creation, thereby enabling the wearer to feel his/her individual personality in the most confident and glamorous way.

They exclusively cater to designing three ranges in a year, namely Spring/Summer, Winter Festive and Autumn/Winter for the brand, where each collection is deeply connected with Indian roots, its traditions and cultures.

In the meantime, they also retail their collections through some of the most upmarket designer studios in the country like Ensemble, Ogaan, Evoluzione, Collage, Aza and many others.

200Women’s fight against the extremely rampant patriarchal society and male domination has been continuing since centuries. Apart from giving men a cut-throat competition on the professional level, women also take control of themselves by the way they dress themselves. The same is the subject of the newly opened ‘Women Fashion Power’ exhibition opened at the Design Museum in London.

Featuring a collection of modern outfits contributed by some of the most influential women of the 21st century, the exhibition traces key moments in the development of women’s clothing since 1850.

Designed by the acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid, the exhibition consists of interviews, unique historic pieces of clothing and an exclusive film which takes the visitor to an enliven journey which clearly portrays the advice that women give from their clothing, apart from its mere outward appearance.

Heading back 150 years, the exhibition traces how women’s outfits have evolved from the constraints of the corset through flapper dresses, mini-skirts, female tuxedos, power-dresses and sportswear.

From Dame Vivienne Westwood to Natalie Massenet and Princess Diana to Anne Hidalgo, Women Fashion Power uses some innumerable similar milestone illustrations to show how fashion has always been an important tool of self-expression and empowerment to build reputation, attract attention and assert authority.

The exhibition will run from 29th October to 26th April 2015.
