After receiving extremely encouraging response to their shows and fresh from the launch of  their signature store in Mumbai, Sonam & Paras Modi now present yet another breathtaking line up at the Lakme Fashion Week  Autumn Winter 2014.

The collection titled “Maestro” denotes the vibrancy of life, vigour, valiance and passion. A visual representation of the Spanish Matador, this collection is inspired by the tenacity of one to survive and to conquer, while personifying a flamboyant, arrogant yet humble hero.

In keeping with the philosophy of their inspiration, the designs are delicate yet bold and intense, with stark tones of black, white and gold and a hint of emerald, and wine. Rich luscious silks, velvets, satins, thick cotton lycra, georgettes pay rich tribute to this monochromatic, dark line.

A regular at the high profile platform, designer Shruti Sancheti’s collection for the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week is aptly titled ‘Strands of Silk’. Showcasing grandeur celebration festivity, the creations are dominated by variegated luxury quality silk fabric in vibrant colours like crimson, cherry, carmine, wine, aubergine, burnt orange, saffron, alphanso, fuschia and indigo blue.

NEZ, label by Neha Agarwal will make its debut in the Gen Next category at the forthcoming Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive, 2014.

Niola Doa by NEZ is an avante grade, evening-wear collection which personifies “Apocalyptic Beauty”, reflecting the dark side of a female’s alter-ego. My theme for LFW   portrays a tribal Gothic vibe, with dark fantasies of a female’s sub-conscious mind captured in a mystical and dramatic vision”, says the designer.

The collection draws inspiration from the Ethiopian “Mursi Tribe”, the most primitive existent tribe. Their distinct feature of self-decoration provokes a sense of brashness by its raw yet edgy sensibility reflected in the innovatively crafted surface texturing techniques as a key feature of the collection. These aesthetics have been aptly captured by use of fabrics like leather, suede, organza, textured jute and linen incorporated in the complex creation of exaggerated silhouette structuring.

Sonaakshi Raaj, is geared up to showcase her latest fusion line ‘Rebel With A Cause’, at Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2014, on Saturday, 23rd August, 2014.

The newest collection by Sonaakshi Raaj is a dichotomy of opulence and luxury, yet being edgy. The line comprises of fluid fabrics, flirty cuts, intricate detailing and styles that never date. The colours a la mode are Oxyblood reds, Nudes, Charcoals and Metallics.

When Ralph Waldo Emerson said that, ‘the Earth laughs in flowers’, he could not have been more succinct. As a designer who has harboured a similar belief, Anushree Reddy has taken the age-old floral print with a modern vintage spin on her heavily embroidered garments for upcoming LFW W/F 2014.

Her collection is an ode to the designer’s love for everything vintage and her strong Indian roots. The Indian chapter of Portobello brings forth the entire gamut of Indianwear from stately anarkalis to splendid lehengas and edgy sarees. From elements of a vintage newspaper print to additions of a measuring tape print, Anushree is covering a whole array of flirty inspirations for her latest collection. The heavy, detailed handiwork coupled with the Victorian era prints lend a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to Anushree’s new collection. The silhouettes are classic and timeless and the play on the detailing creates a niche for the classic Anushree Reddy garment.

The colour palette includes dull and rosy pinks, sea green, tones of beige and lavender. The fairytale wedding saga unveils against a backcloth of fine satin, tulle, chiffon, raw silk and organza.

The soul of the collection, by designer Amit Aggarwal, lies in tribal influences like weaving techniques, striped tattoos and structured jewelry. A modern interpretation of these ideas is taken forward as menswear details find their way on to couture dresses in a beautiful synthesis of androgyny with feminity.

Black coupled with saturated and deep tones appear on washed matt silks, crepe de chine and duchess satin, while tulle blurs the edges and suggests a softer, darker romance.Structured silhouettes are distinct features of this collection.
