Gucci announced the opening of its sixth store at the Quest Mall, Kolkatta. The House’s new shopping destination spans 2350 square feet – making it the largest luxury boutique in the Mall – and boasts a design concept by Creative Director Frida Giannini.

At the Gucci Kolkata store, clients will receive an unparalleled and luxurious combination of personal service and attention to detail that has defined the Gucci experience since Guccio Gucci opened his first store in Florence in 1921.  A comprehensive range of Gucci products including handbags, shoes, luggage, small leather goods, silks, watches, jewelry, fragrances, sunglasses, the children’s collection, and gift items will be available at the store.

Smoked mirror and glass alternate providing an elongated perspective; door handles comprise gold and glass stripes; the floor is covered in white marble, sliced with a wide black marble strip that runs underfoot, up the wall and on the ceiling overhead; a fused bronze glass with a striped cross section and cracked lacquer is employed on shelving and display cases. Walls, covered in both bronze glass and bronze mirror, contribute to the warm intimacy and sophistication of the store environment.

This woman’s nineteen years with the entertainment industry concludes to no introduction to be given to her. She has laid her footsteps in the field of acting, anchoring, sports presenting and finally fashion designing. All this while, her ensembles have widely included ethnic and glamorous sarees, with which she possesses a deep and a never ending connection. Having a well-defined and diversified knowledge of the silhouettes, the fabrics and the colours, this multi-talented star curated her eponymous label in 2013.

In her own words, her creations are extension of who she is. Since the launch of her label, she has organised exhibitions in Mumbai and Singapore to bring her collection to the mainstream fashion world. Bringing forth her admiration for the versatility attached to this traditional Indian wear, the designer makes it sure that the garments are comfortable and easy to wear.

She officially made her turning into a designer public by making a debut appearance at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014. Her collection was away from the bling, the sparkle, the loud embroidery and other heavy works. Concentrating more on the fabric and the colour combination, the designer switches to keeping it simple with minimalistic embellishments.

The exquisiteness further lies in the fact that the sarees are wearable at all occasions and suitable for women belonging to all age groups. Her sarees are vastly unique, inventive with the excellent blend of classy and traditional.

She retails her collection through her flagship store in Mumbai. Also, her collection at the Lakme Fashion Week can be found at www.mandiradesigns.com.
