Mugler Follies is a new show by Thierry Mugler, finally making its debut in Paris, combining cabaret and revue elements with new technology, and state-of-the-art lighting.

Thierry (who prefers to be called Manfred these days) says about the show, “The Revue is a sparkling and gifted art, contemporary. It tends homage to the human beauty and all its talents. “The storyline is: ‘What we could do and where we could go if we followed our dreams?’ That’s all I will say.

Costumes were pure Mugler style in shiny vinyl, brightly colored skirt ensembles with matching geometric tops. The “Muglerettes” — part bug (with tentacles and big, yellow eyes), part revealing showgirl — were also in Space Age vinyl numbers, with the likes of strappy bras with fishnets and boots and  the legendary Mr. Pearl creating the corsets.
