Milan Fashion Showroom 2012The fourteenth edition of Milano Moda Showroom, running from 26 June to 15 July 2012, opened in Milan of late.

The latest edition of Milan Fashion Showroom, the event that the National Chamber of Italian Fashion promotes with the goal of making the best Made in Italy, contains 120 showrooms for over 200brands for men, women and children.

National Chamber of Italian Fashion has implemented the section dedicated to Milan Fashion Showroom where each showroom has access to a page in which one can find a link that links directly to their site map for the location of spaces and how to reach.

About the event, Mario Boselli, President of Camera NazionaledellaModaItaliana, says,"Milano Moda Showroom continues to attract your interest the most important fashion houses that are actively involved with their showroom. I am very pleased with this event that helps to further strengthen the image and the role of Milan as a fashion capital, both in terms of creativity and quality, both commercially and in the business. "

NIIFT Anukama 2012The apparel brand, Numero Uno organized NIIFT ‘Anukama 2012’, an annual design collection show put together by the graduating students of Fashion Design stream of NIIFT Ludhiana.

54 students from the academy came together and showcased their collection on themes like, Beach wear, Sufism, traditional folk art of Punjab, women empowerment and many more along with collection for infants.

About the event, Badal Chaudhary, CEO Numero Uno said, “We are thrilled to unite once again with NIIFT to promote fashion education in the city and it is our privilege to provide our support through a platform like NIIFT. Innovation is core aspect of our brand, in order to promote innovation amongst budding fashion designers Numero Uno has come up with this award.”

Shravan at SIIMA AwardsThe first day of SIIMA Awards in Dubai, honoring the next generation young stars of South Indian Film Industry turned out to be a glamorous affair as designer Shravan presented a scintillating fashion show.

Popular Designer Shravan who is a favourite among most of the southern stars presented his collection with a black and white and Eastman Era theme. The ramp looked like a silver screen with a number of actors and actresses from the four industries walking the ramp.

The eve was attended by a huge number of stars from South India like Ambareesh, Sumalatha, SarathRajkumar ,Khushboo , Namitha, R.Madhavan , Shruti Hassan, Lakshmi and ManojManchu,Trisha, Amla Paul, Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajnikanth , Simbu , Vikram, PuneetRajkumar and many more.

Pantaloons Fresh Face HuntThe Grand Finale of Pantaloons Fresh Face Hunt saw 20 contestants walking the ramp in the city of Mumbai.

The finalists put their best foot forward in the hope to become the face of Pantaloons. 10 young male and female contestants scorched the ramp in Pantaloons ethnic, casual and formal wear. The judges of the evening, PoojaBedi,Dipanita Sharma, Aryan Vaid, Gavin C. Miguel,Leena Tipnis and Vicky Idnani judged the finalists on the basis of attitude, confidence and poise.

Finally, DishaPatni and Iqbal Bhatt bagged the title.

The first in the kitty of I Am She, the national beauty pageant spearheaded by Sushmita Sen, is the 2012 title of Miss Asia Pacific World won by Himangini Singh Yadu recently.

All overwhelmed by her victory, Sushmita who personally received Himangini at the airport, exclaimed, “Himangini has successfully represented India and won us back the sweet taste of victory. We did it. She brought us back the crown after 12 years. We made India proud. It’s the 3rd year for I Am She and look we have a fantastic win.”

Hailing from Indore, Himangini recently bagged the coveted title after beating 19 contestants in the Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 competition held in Seoul, South Korea. The 24-year-old green-eyed diva wore an evening gown designed by Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor for the finale.

On the other hand, Himangini, on hearing about Sushmita’s gesture to welcome her, excitedly said, ‘I am looking forward to meet my mentor, Sushmita Sen. Her encouraging persona has always motivated me and help me grow and perform with aplomb and I shall be indebted for her kindness and support.”

Sonam Kapoor by GladysThe giggly Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor, known for her elegant style sense seems like turning out to be India’s latest export to fashion world of the West.

The actress doting on her Diors and Louboutins of late found her admirers in the likes of famous fashion illustrator Gladys Perint Palmer who loves to create her illustrations, and the latest in the series is a beautiful one with diluted ink effect showing mellow Sonam wearing a large sized earring.

Gladys who is in the business for last few decades has created this illustration for Paris Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2012/13 where Sonam is supposed to attend an Elie Saab show on 4th July, 2012, andassume her seat, HA 16 (Section H, Row A – Front Row – Seat 16).

A new research paper called, Boosting Beauty in an Economic Decline: ‘Mating, Spending and Lipstick Effect’ states that because there are fewer men with access to resources in recessionary periods, women’s desire for resource access in a mate increased in response to recession cues.
